Genshin Impact

If you like action role-playing games or “Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, Then you’ll love Genshin Impact. Genshin Impact is an action rpg created by a Chinese company called “miHoYo, and was released to the app store in 2020. It is available on many platforms too! There is honestly no reason why you shouldn’t be playing this game. Genshin has everything you could ever want in a game. It has incredible visuals, strategic gameplay, and a great storyline.

The visuals in Genshin are breathtaking. You know how sometimes you see advertisements displaying incredible visuals, and then you download the game only to find out the visuals are nothing like the advertisement? This is not the case with Genshin. The visuals in this game are exactly as advertised in their ads. When you think about it, it’s sort of crazy how well they got their visuals to be on mobile without making your phone overheat. What’s even more surprising, is miHoYo used Unity to create the game. This is surprising to me because usually, games made with Unity aren’t of this sort of quality.

Many people have compared this game to “Zelda: Breath of the Wild”. This being because the gameplay in these games share many similarities. Like “Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, Genshin features an open-world environment and an action-based battle system using elemental magic and character switching. Both games also allow you to find treasures in the wild and fight enemies. The difference is that Genshin uses anime style characters, while the characters in “Zelda: Breath of the Wild”, have more cartoon-ish features. Also, Genshin is free-to-play and is monetized through gacha game mechanics where players can obtain new characters, weapons, and other recourses.

As far as story lines go, I would consider Genshin to have one of the best stories out there. Genshin Impact takes place in the fantasy world of Teyvat, which is home to seven distinct nations, each of which is tied to a different element and ruled by a different god. The story follows the Traveler, who has traveled across countless worlds with their twin sibling before becoming separated in Teyvat. The Traveler travels in search of the lost sibling with their traveling companion Paimon and becomes involved in the affairs of Teyvat’s nation.
